"To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified." - Isaiah 61:3

S.E.E.D. Program

In 1987, Arise & Shine Evangelistic Association began a Christian Grade School in Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines.  It was our hope that through this ministry many of the needy children in our area would have the chance to receive a quality Christian education.  God has done exceedingly above all that we could have expected.  The school has increased at a steady rate.  From only four students that first year, we have grown to over 300 students in 1999.  Each year we have added more space for the school to our current facilities.  Each year we have been full to capacity.  Although we keep our school fees at an absolute minimum, there are still those underprivileged who cannot afford to attend.

We could not turn them away!

In 1996, we added a second story to our building, increasing our enrollment by 50%.  That same year we began our student sponsorship program (SEED) to provide funds for the needy children to obtain an education in a Christian environment.  Almost 50% of the children currently enrolled in the school are now sponsored through the SEED program.  For $40.00 a month, a Filipino child receives a chance at a new life.  The sponsor receives a picture of the child, communication from the child, a quarterly report on the happenings of the school, and the reward of being God's outstretched hand to a family in need.  Without the generosity of these sponsors, we could not give these children such a wonderful gift -- an education based on God's Word.    It is truly a gift of life, for without this Christian education, these children are in bondage to a life of poverty.

Our vision is expanding because more parents are requesting enrollment for their children.  We now operate a Preschool in Manila in one of the poorest areas of the city.  Unfortunately, we can only offer these students an education for two years, but we hope to increase this as soon as funding is available.  Dr. Conrad Lagazo, ASEA's Filipino Administrator, does a tremendous job of overseeing these ministries.

1. Give them a Christ-centered education

2. Teach them the importance of God's Word and the Good News of Jesus Christ

3. Train them to be a witness for Christ in order to reach their country with the Gospel

4. Help them succeed in the workforce by preparing them through vocational training
